America's 50 Manliest Cities Listed

(AP) - A listing of America's 50 manliest cities ranks Chicago at number 46. But don't feel too bad, guys. Chi-town beat out Los Angeles and New York. In fact, New York comes in last.

The ranking says Cincinnati, Columbus and Toledo make the top 10 for manliness based on criteria such as the number of major league sports teams, popularity of tools and hardware and frequency of monster truck rallies.

Nashville, Tenn., comes out on top in the study by Sperling's BestPlaces and commissioned as part of a promotion for Combos snacks made by Mars Snackfood US.

Charlotte, N.C., is second, followed by Oklahoma City and then fourth-place Cincinnati. Columbus is seventh and Toledo 10th.

Dayton is manly enough for 15th and Cleveland ranks No. 19.

New York City finished last out of 50 major U.S. metropolitan areas.

It is worth noting that the working definition of "manly" for this study equates to fucking retard.

Replace "manliest" with "redneck" and there ya have it. And oh yay, I'm right smack in between the top two.

I have to say, for the kind of men *I* like, Seattle ranks number 1, followed closely by Oregon and San Francisco.

Monster truck rallies? I'm surprised that chewing tobacco sales wasn't on their list of criteria. Maybe they should add cities with the most mullets and/or men who wear ball caps. Oh yes.. I'm stereotyping (like this list wasn't, haha).

I'm SHOCKED that LA and NY are below San Francisco. I would think that NYC would be near the top, LA somewhere nar the middle, I'm also shocked about Chicago's placement - another one that I thought would be near the top.

'Manly' is highly relative, ut suffice it to say that the standard notion is not what we fly by.
